Betting Rules
1. General Betting Rules
-
1.1 Market Settlement and Timing
Markets are settled according to the official outcome published by the governing competition or the event organizers. Bets placed after the publication of the official outcome are void. If a match is not completed and is decided by the official source, Bettower will settle bets in accordance with that ruling. If the announcement occurs more than 48 hours after the end of the event and undecided bets have been handled, settlement will stand on the published result. Market descriptions may specify inclusion of overtime; in such cases, markets that state include overtime are settled after overtime concludes. Penalty shootouts are only considered if the market expressly states so.
-
1.2 Bet Acceptance and Rejection
Bettower reserves the right to accept all or part of any bet, or to reject bets, without obligation to provide a reason. If a bet is not accepted, the stake is refunded to the customer promptly.
-
1.3 Palpable Error and Risk Management
Bettower may void or cancel part or all of a bet after acceptance or after the event has started for valid reasons. Examples include palpable error in event wording or odds, attempts to circumvent limits, access to non‑public information that determines the outcome, customer collusion or multiple related bets, direct participation in the event, or a technical error in the odds feed. Any such action will be communicated to the customer on request.
-
1.4 Venue Changes and Circumstances
Bettower reserves the right to void all bets on an event if the venue is changed or if there are radical changes in event circumstances that affect the integrity of the bet, such as major alterations to duration or distance in a race.
-
1.5 Fraud and Integrity
If Bettower reasonably suspects fraudulent activity or manipulation of an event, it may: withhold settlement on specific bets, inform regulatory authorities, wait for a verdict, and settle or void bets in accordance with the verdict or authorities’ guidance.
-
1.6 System Interruptions
In the event of a technical interruption during bet placement or settlement, Bettower applies standard checks (funds, price correctness, etc.) and may accept or reject bets as appropriate. Customers should verify bet acceptance in their betting history when the system resumes.
-
1.7 Video Assistant Referee (VAR) and Final Decisions
If a VAR decision conflicts with the on‑field decision and alters the state of play relevant to a bet, bets placed between the original incident and the final decision are voided unless the specific bet offer is unaffected by the VAR decision or already accounted for in the odds at acceptance. Bets on unrelated outcomes remain valid. Final decisions communicated before the match conclusion govern settlement, and Bettower may reverse settlements if a regulator or governing body requires it.
-
1.8 Odds Display and Rounding
Odds shown on screen are truncated to two decimal places for user display. Total odds are calculated using a sixth decimal, while the winning amount is always truncated to two decimal places. Any discrepancy arises solely from the rounding method described here.
-
1.9 Settlement Window
The maximum interval between a betslip’s settlement and any potential re‑settlement is 30 days. Bettower may adjust settlements within this window if required by official results or regulatory guidance.
-
1.10 End-of-Game Time Rules
If a match is officially completed at or after 79:00, bets settle on the full‑time result. If the match is concluded at 78:59 or earlier, undecided markets are void. Matches abandoned or stopped for reasons such as crowd trouble, injuries, or weather result in voiding undecided markets unless the event is resumed and completed within the approved timeframe.
-
1.11 Supported Match Formats
Betting formats supported for prematch and live bets include 2x25, 2x30, 2x35, 2x40, 2x45 and 3x30. For formats with total duration outside 50 to 90 minutes, all markets are void. If a 3x30 format is used, halftime equals half of the total duration. Bettower accepts no responsibility for unanticipated format changes; customers accept this risk upon registration and placing bets.
-
1.12 Play-or-Pay Rule for Outrights
Outright markets (short‑term and long‑term) are subject to the Play‑or‑Pay principle: bets on listed participants stand and may be settled as losses even if the participant cannot take part, regardless of reason. Head‑to‑head (H2H) markets are excluded from this rule. If a listed participant is replaced by a member of the same team, team markets remain valid while individual markets involving that participant are void.
2. Market Types and Settlement Principles
-
2.1 Combination and System Bets
A combination (accumulator) bet comprises multiple selections drawn from one or more events. All selections must win for the accumulator to pay. The total stake is the product of the individual odds. A system bet treats each constituent bet as a separate, potentially winning, outcome. A banker bet within a system bet is a single selection deemed essential for the overall system payout.
-
2.2 Dead Heat and Pro Rata Settlement
In the event of a dead heat, the stake is divided proportionally among winners. Example: a two‑way dead heat with £10 stake results in a return of half the potential value for each winning leg. In markets where a draw is offered, the dead heat rule does not apply unless the market description specifies otherwise.
-
2.3 Special Market Rules andJackpot
Jackpot or fixed‑game bets settle according to the fixture results, subject to the general settlement rules. If a price or term is displayed incorrectly, Bettower may void the market and settle according to corrected terms available at the time of the bet. If a match is interrupted and not completed within the standard window, bets on undecided markets may be voided or settled as otherwise described in the market terms.
-
2.4 Postponements, Cancellations and Official Sources
If a match is postponed or cancelled and not resumed within the stated timeframe, bets on markets not yet determined may be voided. When an official source provides the result, Bettower applies that result for settlement. In absence of an official source, Bettower relies on its own statistics; if conflicting information exists, Bettower will settle in a manner that best preserves market integrity.
3. Soccer Specific Settlement Rules
-
3.1 Match Result and Overtime
All match markets are based on the result at the end of regular time unless the market description states otherwise. Markets including overtime are paid after overtime only if the market explicitly includes overtime. Penalty shootouts are only considered where stated in the market terms.
-
3.2 In-Play and Timeframes
In‑play markets follow the same settlement principles as prematch markets. If a match is postponed or abandoned and resumed within 48 hours in local time, bets remain valid; if not resumed or if the result becomes unavailable, unsettled bets may be voided as described in the event terms.
-
3.3 Market Integrity
In cases of changes to venue or kick‑off times that affect market integrity, bets already placed may stand or be voided depending on the terms published for the event.
4. Player Markets and Scoring Bets
-
4.1 Scorers and Timing
First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer and Anytime Goalscorer bets relate to regular time unless the market specifies otherwise. Own goals are omitted from First Goalscorer settlements and are ignored for other scorer markets unless the market explicitly counts them. If a player does not participate in the match, bets on that player shall be void.
-
4.2 Live Player Markets
Player markets extend to all players who participate in the match. If a player is introduced after the first goal, bets on that player may be void depending on market terms. If a match is abandoned before completion and within the required timeframe, bets on players who did not participate may be voided.
5. Practical Considerations and Edge Cases
-
5.1 Timing and Venue
If the venue is changed or the event format diverges from the accepted norm, Bettower may void bets on the affected markets. Bets remain valid for markets that have already determined results unambiguously by the official result.
-
5.2 Data and Official Sources
In the absence of an official source, Bettower uses its own reliable statistics for settlement. Where there is a conflict between official results and Bettower statistics, the official result governs where available.
-
5.3 Dispute Resolution and Amendments
Bettower may correct any erroneous settlements and adjust bets if required by regulation or official guidance. Any decision by Bettower under these rules is final unless overturned by applicable regulatory authorities.
